Mason Newman (b. 1999) is a self-taught British artist and designer known for his provocative, satirical work blending fine art, fashion, and cultural commentary. Born in Birmingham, he left school at 16 with a £200 loan from his grandfather and launched a streetwear venture that evolved into Mason Newman Studios in 2018.
His practice spans bold canvases, wearable art, and his viral "Dollar Bills" series-reimagined U.S. currency featuring hand-drawn cultural symbols and critiques of modern excess. Newman explores themes like fame, wealth, mental health, and identity with humour and emotional depth.
A 2024 Forbes "30 Under 30" nominee, he has collaborated with Ed Hardy on a hand-painted fashion collection and served as Creative Director for Madonna's Material Girl brand. His debut solo exhibition, 'Hi Friend', premiered at The Sidings, London, in early 2024.
In 2025, Newman's profile continued to rise: he participated in the BAFTA awards, famously trading tattoos with musician Teddy Swims, collaborated with cult fashion label Aries, and was appointed the official artist for legendary rock band Black Sabbath, with a unique collection launched at Selfridges. Through Creed Gallery, he expanded internationally, showcasing his work in Monaco and Marbella.
Still in his mid-20s, Mason Newman remains a boundary-breaking figure in contemporary culture, fusing artistic rebellion with commercial impact and personal authenticity.
