Une Maja Posant sur un Piédestal (1968) is an original sugarlift aquatint etching by Pablo Picasso, created as part of the celebrated La Célestine series (Série 347). Executed during a prolific and expressive late period of the artist’s career, this work reflects Picasso’s enduring fascination with the female form and classical Spanish subject matter.

Rendered with confident, economical line and tonal depth achieved through the sugarlift aquatint process, the composition demonstrates Picasso’s extraordinary command of graphic technique. The elongated figure and sculptural stance reference both traditional Spanish imagery and the artist’s own modernist reinterpretation of form.

Printed on Richard-de-Bas laid paper bearing the “La Célestine” watermark and produced by Atelier Crommelynck in Paris, the work forms part of one of Picasso’s most significant late print series. The Série 347 remains highly regarded among collectors for its technical sophistication and historical importance.

This original Picasso etching is available at Creed Gallery Ascot, serving collectors across Berkshire, Sunningdale, Wentworth and the surrounding areas.
