Creed Gallery in Ascot, Berkshire, offers two signed limited editions by JonOne, the Harlem-born, Paris-based graffiti pioneer: BioMimétisme (edition of 50, £1,995) and Spectre City (edition of 200, £1,000). Each is framed at about 23 × 54 cm. Our team can advise on edition, framing and documentation for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey and London.

About JonOne: From Harlem to Paris

JonOne was born John Andrew Perello in Harlem in 1963 to Dominican parents and grew up on 156th Street. At 17 he began writing his name on walls and trains as Jon156, and in 1984 he co-founded the crew 156 All Starz. When the French graffiti artist Bando invited him to Paris in 1987 he stayed, and spent about five years working at the artist squat Hôpital Éphémère, where he turned to painting on canvas. He says he had no art education, and his abstract expressionist canvases carry the gesture and colour of graffiti. A retrospective of forty years of his work, Carte Blanche, is on at Fluctuart in Paris from September to December 2025.

The Work: Calligraphy, Colour and Gesture

He treats each canvas like a wall covered in layered tags, a palimpsest built up through action painting. As with Pollock before him, he moves across the surface, and the results are calligraphic, joyful in colour and full of movement.

Our Editions

BioMimétisme (£1,995) is a signed limited edition of 50, 23 × 54 cm framed. Its title borrows the biological term for living systems imitating each other's forms, and the mark, like a vine on a wall, follows its own logic. Spectre City(£1,000) is a signed limited edition of 200, 23 × 53 cm framed, and takes the city as a space of memory and absence. Both are editions, not unique originals.
