About Michael Talbot: A Sustained Study of the Human Form

Michael Talbot is a British sculptor whose practice centres on a sustained engagement with the human form — its capacity for gesture, balance, and the communication of feeling through purely physical means. "Sculpture for me is an attempt to show and illuminate a chosen moment in time," he has said. "I like to give my sculptures choreography of form, tension and balance, to lead the eye and capture a moment in time."

The Technique: Lost Wax Casting and Patination

Talbot's bronzes use the lost wax method — one of the oldest casting techniques in human history, used for sculpture since ancient Egypt and Greece. He maintains complete control over the original clay model, the casting, and the final patination, which is unique to each piece. "The choice of bronze is never arbitrary," he has said. "It is the material that lasts — that patinates and changes over time."

Collecting Michael Talbot at Creed Gallery

Talbot's figurative works explore the human figure in states of grace, connection, and emotional presence. A recent series focuses on hands, with pairs of elegant hands coming together to form subtle messages of love. Creed Gallery currently holds Ayanna and Amara at £1,995 each, and Lasting Love and Infinite Love at £3,795 each, available for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey and London.

Why Collect Michael Talbot

Talbot's command of one of sculpture's oldest techniques, combined with a genuinely contemporary emotional register, gives his bronzes a rare balance of craft and feeling.
