Collection: Ghost
Creed Gallery in Ascot, Berkshire, offers mixed-media originals and numbered editions by Ghost, a South Wales collective of two artists who rework familiar images, from Leonardo's Last Supper to Winston Churchill, with drawing, digital manipulation, tattoo-style illustration and spray paint. Current works run from £1,595 to £1,995, each in a bespoke spray-painted frame. Our team can advise on edition, framing and provenance for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey and London.
About Ghost: A Two-Artist Collective from South Wales
Ghost is made up of two collaborating artists who work under one name, and their work is deliberately hard to pin to a single hand. Drawing, digital manipulation and graffiti spray work are folded into one composition. Their subjects are familiar images: old master compositions, archival photography, classic cinema and national icons. They handle the source material with real technical control, then rework it with tattoo-inspired illustration and gritty spray paint. Allegorical symbols and hidden meanings are built into each piece, so it rewards a second and third look.
The Frames Are Part of the Work
Every Ghost comes in a bespoke frame that carries part of the content. The gold frame of I Got The Yayo is loaded with resin-cast revolvers, gold chains, Bitcoin coins, gold bars and a grenade, around a tattooed figure on a Louis Vuitton monogram backdrop. Gangster Party restages The Last Supper as a table of film gangsters, and its gilt frame is tagged with graffiti lettering, playing cards and dollar signs that spill beyond the painted scene.
Originals and Editions
Our selection includes two unique works, I Got The Yayo and No Surrender, a monochrome Winston Churchill built from wartime newspaper headlines and a cracked Union Jack. Gangster Party is a signed, numbered edition of 26 in mixed media on canvas. Editions like this are hand-finished, so two impressions from the same edition can differ slightly in their spray-paint detail. A unique work and a numbered edition are different things, and we tell you which is which.
Collecting Ghost at Creed Gallery
Prices run from £1,595 for the edition to £1,995 for the unique works, so this is an accessible way into original mixed-media work. Our team will talk you through provenance, framing and condition, and you're welcome to visit the gallery in Ascot.
Why Collect Ghost
The work is funny, sharp and built to be looked at closely, and the frames make each piece a physical object as well as an image. As with any artist, individual pieces vary in demand and value, so our team is happy to talk you through the specifics of any work you're considering.
