Collection: Simon Kenny

Creed Gallery in Ascot, Berkshire, offers original abstract paintings by Simon Kenny, the Dublin-born artist known for luminous "colour burst" canvases in the tradition of lyrical abstraction. Our nine available originals run from £3,995 to £10,595. Our team can advise on size, framing and documentation for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey and London.

About Simon Kenny

Simon Kenny was born in Dublin in 1976 and discovered art at a young age. He describes his aim as letting the viewer connect personally with each composition and be reminded of a place they once knew. His paintings combine brush and palette knife work, subtle under-painting and graduated shifts of colour, and no piece depicts a particular place. Press coverage has called him a "radical Turner", and dealer biographies list the Saatchi Gallery among his exhibition venues. He says his personality is "a big part of what I paint", and that his mood affects his colours and the direction of a work.

The Work: Colour, Light and Atmosphere

His canvases build glowing bursts of colour against darker grounds, often finished with a resin surface that gives them depth. They read as skies, space or weather rather than as any one place, and titles such as Off World, Dark Energy and Time Amongst Heavens point the same way.

Our Simon Kenny Paintings

Our originals are Off World (£3,995), Darkness Fell (£5,750), Light and Dark (£6,395), Mind and Rising (£7,995 each), and Time Amongst Heavens, Surrounded By Forever and Division (£10,595 each). Dark Energy has sold, as has Radiance, a signed limited edition with a resin glaze and gold leaf.
