Screenprint in colours on museum board | 91.4 × 91.4 cm
The Sunday B. Morning editions occupy a specific and contested position in the history of Warhol's printed output. Produced from 1968 onward by a Belgian publisher using Warhol's original silkscreens, the editions were initially made with Warhol's knowledge and tacit approval — he reportedly told friends to "buy the Sunday B. Morning editions, they're cheaper." Stamped verso in blue ink "Published by Sunday B. Morning" rather than signed, they are officially "after" works but produced from the artist's own screens.
This Pink Marilyn (after F&S II.31) presents the iconic image in the hot pink and acid yellow palette that is the most immediately recognisable of Warhol's Marilyn colour schemes — the palette that has become synonymous with the Pop Art moment itself. At 91.4 × 91.4 cm on museum board, the scale and substrate make this one of the most significant Sunday B. Morning impressions available.
Available through Creed Gallery, Ascot, for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey, and London.
