Helena Jay — A Healing Journey
Helena Jay is a London-based international artist, born and raised in the UK before moving to France for 15 years to live and study art, later returning to London. Her practice explores ecological philosophy, interconnection, and the unseen threads that bind all living things — layered, symbol-rich paintings rooted in the belief that everything is fundamentally connected, worked through in a language of colour and symbol rather than direct narrative.
Her exhibition record includes the Florence Biennale at the Fortezza da Basso (2019), the London Biennale in Chelsea, and the Van Gogh Art Gallery in Madrid, and her work has been featured in British Vogue and House & Garden magazine. Creed Gallery, Ascot, is currently the only gallery representing Helena Jay.
Built up in thick, palette-knife impasto, A Healing Journey draws an avenue of slender trunks receding toward a single point of light, their canopies rendered in loose strokes of green, gold and violet that thin and brighten as they near the vanishing point. The path underfoot catches the same warm light, drawing the eye through the length of the canvas toward a soft, glowing clearing.
