Two passages of RETNA's constructed script face each other across the sheet in a symmetrical composition, the turquoise and pink giving the image a luminosity that suits the stone printing process. The series title plays on Ludovicus, the Latin form of the name Louis.

The print was published in 2018 by Print Them All, the Paris print publisher, as a two-colour stone lithograph, printed on a Marinoni press and hand-cut. The paper is BFK Rives, a classic printmaking stock with a soft, matte surface that is very different from the spray paint and acrylic of his large originals.

RETNA's script draws on Egyptian hieroglyphs, Arabic and Hebrew calligraphy, Gothic blackletter and the graffiti of his native Los Angeles. It reads like writing without being meant to be read.
