Alec Monopoly — the masked Los Angeles artist whose Richie Rich figure has become one of the most recognisable motifs in contemporary street art — has been making work about money, power, and the mythology of Wall Street since he began painting in New York during the 2008 financial crisis. The timing was not incidental: as the global financial system was collapsing around him, Monopoly began constructing an artistic practice built on the symbols of excess, aspiration, and the absurdity of extreme wealth.
Wall Street Richie | Silver Bull brings together his Richie Rich protagonist — the comic book embodiment of inherited wealth and entitled consumption — with the bull market symbol: the charging animal that represents rising markets, optimism, and the conviction that things will always go up. In silver, the palette adds a third layer: precious metal, currency, the sheen of wealth itself rendered as a printing colour.
Alec Monopoly's work has been collected globally and exhibited alongside artists including Banksy, Mr. Brainwash, and KAWS. His market is active and his visibility — through social media and celebrity collectors — continues to grow. Available through Creed Gallery, Ascot, for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey, and London.
