Damien Hirst (b. 1965) — Fruitful (Small)

Damien Hirst was born in Bristol in 1965, studied at Goldsmiths College and won the Turner Prize in 1995. He is known for his spot, spin and butterfly works and his preserved animal sculptures, and Tate Modern staged a major survey of his career in 2012.

Fruitful (Small) is a close-up detail from Hirst's Cherry Blossoms paintings, which were exhibited at the Fondation Cartier in Paris in 2021. HENI Editions published it in September 2020 alongside Forever, and the prints were sold for a two-week window to raise funds for Save the Children Italy, so the edition size was set by demand rather than fixed in advance. Dense, sculptural blossoms in blue, pink, yellow and red show the saturated colour of the paintings in a compact format.
