Jisbar is among the leading practitioners of what has been called Pop-Street: a genre that combines the visual language of street art and graffiti — spray paint, bold outlines, urban energy — with the compositional ambitions and collector appeal of gallery painting. Krylon Monkey — named for the spray paint brand that has been a staple of graffiti culture since the 1980s — places a primate subject within a richly layered composition that reflects Jisbar's mastery of surface and material.
