Keith Haring (1958–1990)
Montreux Jazz Festival (Green)
Original 1983 vintage poster | Plate-signed
Keith Haring's Montreux Jazz Festival posters are among the most celebrated works in the history of music poster design — images that brought the visual language of 1980s New York graffiti and Pop Art into the context of one of Europe's most prestigious jazz festivals, creating something entirely new in both traditions. The 1983 poster — produced when Haring was at the height of his powers, before the AIDS diagnosis that would end his life at 31 — captures his visual language at its most exuberant and formally assured.
The green variant presents the Haring universe — the radiant baby, the dancing figures, the interlocking forms — in a palette that gives the composition a particular freshness and energy. Plate-signed: the signature is part of the original print, not applied by hand to this individual impression. The original poster format, produced for the festival in 1983, makes this a genuine historical document as well as a work of art. Available through Creed Gallery, Ascot, for collectors in Windsor, Berkshire, Surrey, and London.
