Keith Haring (1958–1990)
Montreux Jazz Festival (Yellow)
Original 1983 vintage poster | Plate-signed

The yellow Montreux Jazz Festival poster is the most luminous of the 1983 variants — yellow being the colour of energy, of sunshine, of the particular brightness that Haring's visual language has always carried. The yellow ground gives the composition a radiance that the other palette variants cannot achieve, the Haring figures dancing against a ground of pure light.

Since the festival's founding in 1967, the Montreux Jazz Festival has commissioned a poster from a different artist each year. Haring produced a trio of designs — pink, yellow, and green — for the 1983 edition, and returned in 1986 to collaborate with Andy Warhol on a further poster. Original 1983 impressions are now genuinely rare. Plate-signed. Available through Creed Gallery, Ascot, for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey, and London.
