Keith Haring (1958–1990)
Naples Suite | Complete Set of Six
Original lithographs | 1983 | Published 1990
The Naples Suite occupies a uniquely significant position in Keith Haring's graphic output. The six lithographs were drawn in 1983 — at the height of Haring's powers, when his subway chalk drawings had made him one of the most discussed artists in New York and his studio practice was producing work that would define the visual culture of the decade. They were published in 1990 by La Galerie de Poche in Paris for the exhibition Keith Haring 1983 — the last exhibition held during the artist's lifetime. Haring signed these prints shortly before his death from AIDS-related complications in February 1990, at the age of 31.
Each lithograph presents the instantly recognisable Haring visual language: the bold outlines, the radiant figures, the cartoon-inflected forms that synthesise Pop Art, street art, and the visual energy of 1980s New York into something that remains as immediate and powerful today as it was when he made it. The complete set of six, in the original published format, is among the most historically significant Haring print acquisitions currently available.
Haring's work is held in the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, the Stedelijk, and major institutional collections worldwide. His market is active, consistent, and one of the most liquid in the contemporary art space. For collectors in Ascot, Berkshire, Surrey, and London seeking a work of genuine art historical significance, the Naples Suite is an exceptional opportunity.
