Reborn is among the most personally resonant works in Maxim's visual practice — the butterfly as a symbol of transformation, rebirth, and the possibility of becoming something entirely different from what you were. For the frontman of The Prodigy, who has described his move from music to visual art as its own kind of reinvention, the butterfly carries obvious autobiographical weight alongside its wider cultural and art historical associations.

Maxim's butterfly works — his LepidopTerror series — began with the idea of the butterfly as the ultimate underdog: beautiful, fragile, apparently powerless, but capable of collective transformation. In Reborn, this concept is stripped back to its most essential: the butterfly as pure symbol of change, rendered in cobalt and electric blue tones with the mixed media richness that characterises his best work.
