Bright Shades of Mickey represents Mr. Brainwash at his most expansive — a complete portfolio of four works exploring the world's most recognisable cartoon character through the Pop Art lens that has defined his practice since Exit Through the Gift Shop brought him to global attention in 2010. Mickey Mouse is ideal Mr. Brainwash territory: a cultural icon so thoroughly absorbed into the collective visual unconscious that it arrives in any new context carrying the full weight of its history, ready to be subverted, celebrated, and interrogated simultaneously.

The four works present Mickey in four distinct colour relationships — bright, saturated, printed with the silkscreen precision that Mr. Brainwash applies to his most technically ambitious editions.
