Her practice has always been drawn to the great occasions of British and European sporting and social life: Royal Ascot, Henley Regatta, cricket at Lord's. Valentine Daines was commissioned to paint portraits for BBC coverage and has been appointed Artist in Residence to Cunard's Three Queens ocean liners.
