Story behind the artwork:

’Til Death Do Us Part began as a reflection on vows; specifically, the promise of permanence in a world defined by erosion.

The rose, long associated with love, devotion, and beauty, is shown at the moment where its decline is no longer avoidable. The petals fall not through violence, but through time. There is no rupture, no visible hand. Only inevitability.

The title references a marriage vow that assumes certainty, yet quietly contains its own ending. Death is not an interruption of the promise - it is written into it. In this way, the work treats love not as a fantasy of permanence, but as an act entered into with full awareness of loss.

The dark, undefined background removes context and spectacle. What remains is a psychological space where devotion exists without reassurance. The rose continues to stand even as parts of it disappear, suggesting that meaning does not vanish when things fall apart but instead it is clarified.

This work is not about heartbreak.
It is about honesty.

’Til Death Do Us Part considers devotion as something chosen without protection or guarantee. A belief held not because it will last, but because it matters enough to be held anyway.
