About Ed Sheeran: A Private Discipline Made Public
Ed Sheeran's Cosmic Carpark paintings mark one of the most unexpected and genuinely compelling developments in contemporary British art of recent years. Created during the early hours and the spaces between tours and recordings, the works began as a private discipline rather than something made for public consumption, with his friendship with Damien Hirst among the influences that encouraged him to take the practice seriously.
The Series: Night Sky and Deep Space
The Cosmic Carpark paintings are large-format abstractions that engage seriously with colour, texture and the specific properties of paint as a physical material, taking the night sky, deep space and the cosmic scale as their subject to produce work that is genuinely atmospheric and immersive.
Collecting Ed Sheeran at Creed Gallery
Creed Gallery's current Cosmic Carpark pieces — Sky Symphony, Gravity's Dream, Galaxy Dust and Nebula Whisper — are all sold out at present; get in touch to be notified of availability, for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey and London.
Why Collect Ed Sheeran
Sheeran's Cosmic Carpark series offers a genuinely serious body of painting from an artist better known in an entirely different field — a rare crossover backed by a real private practice rather than a celebrity novelty. As with any artist, individual pieces vary in demand and value — our team is happy to talk you through the specifics of any work you're considering.
