مجموعة: Sarah Jeffries | Contemporary Fine Art

Sarah Jeffries (b. 1979) is a British artist born and based in coastal Kent whose practice has been recognised internationally across the UK, Europe, and the United States. Trained at Buckinghamshire New University before progressing to the MA Painting programme at the Royal College of Art in 2004 — one of the most rigorous and prestigious postgraduate painting courses in the world — she has built a body of work that has found audiences well beyond the British gallery context in which it was formed.

Her exhibition record reflects a practice of genuine international reach: four solo shows across the UK, Belgium, and Italy; group exhibitions in Berlin, New York, Milan, and London; and several two-person shows across the UK. Her work has been featured in Vogue, the Guardian, Artist & Illustrators Magazine, and Flash Art Journal — a combination of mainstream and specialist art press coverage that speaks to work operating at multiple levels simultaneously.

The coastal Kent landscape that surrounds her studio informs her practice in ways that are felt rather than literally depicted — the specific quality of light and atmosphere on the north Kent coast, the relationship between land and sea and sky in a landscape that changes constantly with the weather and the tide, present in the sensibility of the work rather than its subject matter.

Available through Creed Gallery, Ascot, for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey, and London.
