مجموعة: Felicity Rowbotham
Felicity Cressida Rowbotham is a London-based artist whose practice spans wheel-thrown ceramics and figurative oil painting. Her work celebrates form, movement, and colour, combining craftsmanship with an instinctive sense of design. Each piece is made by hand in her studio and reflects a careful balance between control and spontaneity; the result of tactile experimentation and a deep appreciation for the beauty found in imperfection.
Her ceramics are known for their fluid, sculptural shapes and joyful glazes, often described as objects that “live beautifully in everyday life.” Every vessel is unique, designed to bring art and warmth into the everyday; whether as a simple mug or a statement centrepiece. Felicity approaches painting with the same sensibility, exploring the female body, light, and movement through expressive oil compositions on wood and canvas. Both practices share a common language of rhythm and flow, inviting viewers to connect with a sense of calm and energy.
Felicity trained at the historic Leach Pottery in Cornwall, one of Britain’s most respected institutions for ceramic craft. Her time there refined her technical understanding while grounding her work in the tradition of handmade pottery. She has exhibited in several design and craft shows, including Craftworks London, and her ceramics have been featured by Selfridges, Hakkasan London, and other leading galleries and design retailers. In 2023, she gained national recognition as a contestant on The Great Pottery Throw Down, where her expressive forms and thoughtful approach resonated with audiences across the UK.
Working primarily in stoneware clay, Felicity throws each piece on the wheel before refining its contours and applying hand-mixed glazes. Her palette draws from natural tones — ocean blues, chalk whites, and vivid greens — echoing the elements that define her process: earth, water, and fire. Each finished object carries its own distinct rhythm and tactile character, reflecting the time and care invested in its creation.
Her visual language is influenced by modern British studio pottery, mid-century design, and the organic forms of nature. Through both ceramics and painting, Felicity creates work that bridges function and art, appealing to those who value individuality, craftsmanship, and a sense of timeless beauty. Today, she continues to expand her practice, producing limited-edition collections and bespoke commissions for collectors, interior designers, and galleries. Whether displayed in a home or exhibited in a gallery, Felicity’s work embodies an enduring respect for material, process, and the quiet poetry of the handmade.
