مجموعة: Schoony

Creed Gallery in Ascot, Berkshire, offers Boy Soldier sculptures and editions by Schoony, the British life-cast sculptor who spent his early career making prosthetics and special effects for films. Our six works run from £595 to £12,000. Our team can advise on edition, provenance and documentation for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey and London.

About Schoony: From Film Effects to Life-Cast Sculpture

Schoony entered film special effects at 15 and, according to his biography, worked on more than 100 films over roughly 25 years, including Saving Private Ryan and Troy. In 2008 he moved into the art world with life-cast sculptures shown at Mutate Britain's One Foot in the Grove exhibition. His best-known figure is the Boy Soldier, a shirtless child in an oversized military helmet, made by life-casting in materials that include fibreglass, bronze and gold. It explores commercialism, violence and kitsch, and the way Western society keeps war at a distance. A Boy Soldier appeared in Kick-Ass 2.
