مجموعة: Tracey Emin
Creed Gallery in Ascot, Berkshire, offers prints and editions by Dame Tracey Emin (b. 1963), the British artist whose confessional work in neon, drawing, painting and embroidery made her one of the defining figures of the Young British Artists. Our team can advise on edition, documentation and provenance for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey and London.
About Dame Tracey Emin
Tracey Emin was born in Croydon in 1963 and grew up in Margate. She studied printmaking at Maidstone College of Art and painting at the Royal College of Art, and held her first solo show, My Major Retrospective, at White Cube in 1993–94. She came to wide attention in the Sensation exhibition in 1997 with Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1963–1995, a tent appliquéd with names that was later destroyed in the 2004 Momart warehouse fire, and in 1999 My Bed was shortlisted for the Turner Prize. She represented Britain at the Venice Biennale in 2007, was elected a Royal Academician the same year, and became the Royal Academy's Professor of Drawing in 2011. She was appointed CBE and, in 2024, Dame Commander (DBE) for services to the arts. Her retrospective A Second Life at Tate Modern (26 February to 31 August 2026) brought together more than 90 works from 40 years.
The Work: Life as Material
Emin works in painting, drawing, neon, embroidery, film, bronze and installation, and draws directly on her own life, including her sexual history, abuse, abortion, and more recently her cancer and disability. Her neons reproduce her own handwriting, giving her most direct statements the immediacy of a handwritten note. She has named Edvard Munch and Egon Schiele as important influences, and in 2020 the Royal Academy paired her work with Munch's. After surviving cancer in 2020 she made Margate her permanent home and set up the Tracey Emin Artist Residency there, a free studio-based art school.
