Marilyn (11.24) – Sunday B. Morning Edition (Silver)
Screenprint in colours on museum board | 91.4 × 91.4 cm
The Silver Marilyn (after F&S II.24) is among the most formally unusual of the Sunday B. Morning editions — a palette that moves away from the warm chromaticism of the pink and mint versions toward something more metallic, more cool, more aligned with the silver screen mythology that surrounded Monroe's career. Silver was the colour of Hollywood in its industrial period: the silver screen, the silvery shimmer of the black-and-white films in which she first appeared.
The Sunday B. Morning editions were produced from Warhol's original silkscreens with his knowledge and tacit approval. At 91.4 × 91.4 cm on museum board, the scale and substrate make this one of the most significant impressions in the series. Stamped verso in blue ink "Published by Sunday B. Morning." Available through Creed Gallery, Ascot, for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey, and London.
