Lincoln Townley (b. 1972)
Skull Banker Gold
Original
Lincoln Townley is a self-taught British artist who came to painting in his forties after a career as a celebrity publicist, and has since built a reputation for portraiture with real psychological bite — his subjects have included Muhammad Ali, whose portrait sold for $623,000 in 2017, alongside major commissions for Mastercard and BAFTA Los Angeles. Working within the outsider art tradition, Townley's practice combines a raw, expressive hand with an eye trained on power, status, and the people who hold it.
Skull Banker Gold applies that same unflinching eye to a memento mori subject rendered in gold — the skull, art history's oldest reminder of mortality, recast through Townley's contemporary, high-impact technique. Available as a striking original for collectors seeking a significant statement piece.
Available through Creed Gallery, Ascot, for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey, and London.
