Richard “Seen” Mirando began painting New York’s subway cars at the age of eleven, eventually leading the United Artists crew responsible for some of the most recognisable whole-car pieces of the 1970s and 80s, and is widely referred to as the Godfather of Graffiti.

This large-scale original renders Seen’s own tag in bubble gum pink, the letterform exploded across a long, low canvas in spray paint until it dissolves into pure sweeping motion — a scale and palette that sets it apart from the smaller, cooler-toned tag pieces in the same series.
