Creed Gallery in Ascot, Berkshire, offers original paintings and works on paper by Mason Newman, the Birmingham-born artist named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list (Art & Culture) in 2024. His work mixes pop art, street culture, brand imagery and rock icons, from The Depressed Generation series to portraits of Ozzy Osbourne. Prices run from £395 to £12,000, with several large works on application. Our team can advise on provenance, framing and documentation for collectors across Berkshire, Surrey and London.

About Mason Newman: From Birmingham to Forbes

Mason Newman left school in 2016 and started by designing clothes, then turned to painting. In 2023 he became the first artist other than Don Ed Hardy to have work on Ed Hardy garments, and he was creative director of Madonna's Material Girl label. His solo debut, Hi Friend, opened at London's Waterloo station in February 2024, and Forbes named him in its 30 Under 30 Europe list that year. His subjects include consumerism, celebrity, wealth and mental health, and Forbes reports that a percentage of his art sales goes to mental health charities.

The Depressed Generation

In this series Newman paints prescription boxes such as Sertraline, Valium and Diazepam in acrylic and spray paint on canvas, and applies the same treatment to luxury carrier bags from Selfridges, Hermès, Molton Brown and Givenchy. The work sets the language of wellness and medication against the language of luxury and status.

Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath

As a fellow Brummie, Newman grew up looking up to Ozzy Osbourne (1948–2025) and Black Sabbath. His Prince of Darkness portraits give Ozzy the bull horns of Birmingham, and we hold originals in several colourways alongside a charity edition print (£395). In July 2025 he designed three limited-edition T-shirts, a hand-numbered edition of 333, with Aries Arise for Black Sabbath's final show at Villa Park, and in September 2025 Topman released his eight-piece Romance at the Rodeo collection. His Black Sabbath Angel originals, in pink, yellow and red, are priced at £12,000 each.
