Creed Gallery in Ascot, Berkshire, offers signed limited-edition sculptures by Jennine Parker, the British sculptor who danced and did gymnastics until she was 21. Our six works are the bronzes Rhythm of Life I and II (£1,750 each), the Deluxe bronzes Eternal Devotion, Adoration I and Intertwined II (£3,950 each) and the Deluxe stainless steel Adoration II (£4,500). About Jennine Parker
Jennine Parker was born in Wolverhampton in 1971 and studied art and design at Stourbridge College of Art. She worked in graphic design for about twenty years before turning to sculpture. Dance and gymnastics were part of her life from the age of seven to 21, and the energy and grace of the moving body remain her starting point. She says the human form is her passion and that she makes as many life drawings as possible before starting a piece.
How Her Sculptures Are Made
She builds each piece by hand in wet or oil-based clay, working on a wire frame where needed, and then sends it to a foundry to be cast in bronze by the lost-wax process. She describes the change from clay to bronze as "the final evolution of the creative process". Her surfaces set polished figures against rougher, textured bases.
Our Jennine Parker Sculptures
Rhythm of Life I and II are her romantic, tactile bronze figures. Eternal Devotion, Adoration I and Intertwined II show couples embracing, and the Deluxe versions are larger. Adoration II is in stainless steel rather than bronze.
