About Damien Hirst
Damien Hirst was born in Bristol in 1965, grew up in Leeds and studied at Goldsmiths College from 1986 to 1989. In 1988 he curated Freeze, the student exhibition that launched the Young British Artists, and in 1995 he won the Turner Prize. He is known for his Natural History sculptures, in which a shark, sheep and cow are preserved in formaldehyde, and for his spot, spin and butterfly works. In 2008 Sotheby's in London sold his new work in Beautiful Inside My Head Forever, which raised £111 million, a record for a single-artist auction. HENI Editions and Charity Prints
Fruitful and Forever (September 2020) show close-up details from his Cherry Blossoms paintings, which were exhibited at the Fondation Cartier in Paris in 2021. They were sold for two weeks to raise funds for Save the Children, so the edition sizes were set by demand and run into the thousands. Our small versions are laminated giclée prints on aluminium composite panel, 39 × 39 cm, digitally signed and numbered. Butterfly Heart is a separate 2020 charity edition for The Felix Project, and Wu Zetian is from The Empresses series, a laminated giclée with screen-printed red glitter. Our small editions are £1,500 each and Wu Zetian is £2,000.
